On March 24, 2008, the Office of Financial Regulation (OFR) implemented the first release of the Regulatory Enforcement and Licensing (REAL) System.  The REAL System will be implemented in two releases with the final release occurring in the fall of 2008.  The current release is available for use by the Mortgage Brokerage and Lending industry subject to regulation under Chapter 494. The REAL System enables you to apply for, renew, and update your license information online.  Release 2 of the REAL System will cover other license types within the Finance, and Money Transmitter areas as well as a very limited number of registrations in the Securities area.

Authorization Codes

In order to utilize the first release of the real system, you will be required to create an online account using the REAL System Online Services. Once your account has been established, you will need to associate your license or application to your REAL System Online account.  Your authorization code will be mailed to you on or about March 26, 2008 at the mailing address currently on file for your license or application. This is a new authorization code generated by the REAL system; your current authorization code will not work.  If you do not receive your authorization code by April 4, 2008, you can request via the REAL System Online Services that one be mailed to you.

REAL System Online Services

Through the REAL System Online Services, you will be able to perform the following activities:

  Apply for License

Complete an online application and submit payment of fees

Schedule the date and time for the Mortgage Broker Test or Re-Schedule (Mortgage Broker applicants and Principle Representatives only)

  File an Amendment to an Existing License

Update your license information such as an address change, contact information, disclosure information, etc.

  Withdraw/Terminate License

Withdraw a pending application or terminate an existing license

  File a Quarterly Report 

Submit the initial quarterly report for associates and loan originators

Submit follow-up quarterly reports to add new or edit existing associates and loan originators

  Renew a License

Reactivate an ‘inactive’ Mortgage Broker license

Renew a Mortgage Brokerage Business or Lender license (beginning July 1, 2008)

  Manage Online Accounts

Manage online account and change/reset password

Grant access to another user to view or manager your license
