File a Complaint

The Office of Financial Regulation (OFR) welcomes complaints from concerned citizens because they may be the only way we become aware of fraud or unfair practices in the financial industry. Your complaint will be recorded in a database and analyzed for a pattern of wrongdoing that may result in a formal investigation or action to protect the public.

Information We Need to Process Your Complaint

Summary of the complaint describing its nature, name of the firm or individual(s) involved, and what was said or done resulting in your need to file a complaint.

Copies of related documents: provide copies of all documents that support your complaint. Examples are contracts, account statements, disclosure documents, cancelled checks or money wires, sales materials and advertisements. Filing online allows you to upload electronic documents.

Online Services Portal Account Registration: In order to file your complaint, you will need to register electronically through our Online Services Portal. A valid email address is required.

Username and Password: Once registered, your username and password will allow you to quickly check the status of your complaint at any time, upload additional documentation electronically, or file a new complaint without having to register again.
